We are proud to support one of our clients Andy Singleton from AS Diagnostics of Blackpool who is doing a run for charity. He is running 195 miles from Glasgow to Blackpool which is the equivalent of 7 marathons in 7 days. He is raising funds for Brian House Children’s Hospice, Cancer Research and BJFF Under 8 Blades.

RKMS are very proud of our Consultant Naomi Warr who recently took part in the UK Ironman event on the 22nd July 2012 in sunny Bolton, Lancashire! The event consisted of a 2.4 mile swim - 112 mile bike - 26.2 mile run all to be completed in one day!

Most of you may think she is mad and you’re probably right but Naomi took part to raise money for a local charity called Trudy’s Trust. The founder, Mark, whom Naomi knows, lost his daughter to a Brain tumour in 2011. Mark has since set up Trudy’s trust a charity committed to raising awareness of Brain Tumours and funds for Brain Tumour Research with the aim of getting a better prognosis for Brain Tumour sufferers, and ultimately a cure.

RKMS launches online IsSosmart system
The Issosmart system provides for a range of businesses, including the fire safety sector, the care sector and also includes Issosmart Green Deal which is designed to assist providers meet the requirements of energy efficient measures for businesses and homes.

John Keen, Managing Director of RKMS, said: “At the moment, businesses have a team of auditors looking at their compliance methods.
“But what we are developing is a tool which provides the evidence they need and make compliance easier.
“It saves them a lot of consultancy fees and makes life a lot easier for them.
“We have always talked one on one with our clients and they’ve told us it’s good because there’s nothing out there at the moment which offers this with on-site consultancy.”

RKMS are proud to support the safe 4 kids campaign increasing awareness of online safety for children. This involves sponsoring the shooting of a DVD aimed at increasing awareness of children of the threats and safe use of the internet.

RKMS move into new premises

In August we moved into new offices at the Solaris Centre on Blackpool promenade the centre is a first class environmental exhibition with solar PV panels, wind turbines solar water heating and a host of other environmentally friendly technologies.

The centre boasts excellent conference and training facilities that allows us to accomodate up to 75 delegates at seminars and up to 50 delegates for training courses. Look out for our new training brochure to be published shortly.

RKMS wins substantial contract with Scottish Enterprise

RKMS submitted a joint tender to Scottish Enterprise as part of the True GRC Group to deliver Business Improvement consultancy and support and were confirmed as successful in early April, this further strenghens this companies image as a provider of quality products and services to the business community.

Acumen Distribution is to expand its waste transfer business after achieving ISO9001 and ISO14001!

Acumen Distribution has achieved ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditation, at the first attempt for its waste transfer station in Stoke-on-Trent. This was undertaken with support from RKMS, with an initial review being carried out assessing current practice against accrediation requirements. Relevant legislative and regulatory requirements were identified and compliance assessed. Operational procedures were then amended to incorporate the necessary controls for accreditation.

"We have now decided to roll out the management system across all our operational sites", says John Stocker, Commercial Director, Acumen Distribution. "We have retained the services of RKMS who have helped us implement and maintain our management systems."

Warrington Borough Transport regain certification to OHSAS18001

Warrington Borough Transport are once again certified to OHSAS18001, the company became the first bus operator in the UK to acheive certification to the standard in 2008 and after a period where certification had lapsed are once again certified to the standard under the leadership of David Squire Managing Director.

New services launched!

RKMS launch two new services H&S Solutions and Personnel Solutions. Following a growing demand from clients we are pleased to announce we can now offer HR support. We have teamed up with Personnel Solutions to provide outsourced HR services based on a monthly retainer, this service can be added to our newly launched H&S Solution to provide clients with all their HR and H&S needs.

This can be further enhanced by adding to our ISO support services, this means that RKMS can now meet all of your H&S, HR and ISO needs.

Shadow Decorators based in Tarleton have won a prestigious award from Liverpool Housing Trust in recognition of their commitment to service. RKMS worked with Shadow Decorators to assist them to achieve ISO9001 & ISO14001. They scored 9.3 in LHT’s supplier review resulting in the gold award out of 36 contractors nominated for the awards.

Charity abseil

The team from Shadow Decorators participating in an abseil in aid of Zoes Place, this helped towards raising £3000 for the Liverpool based charity.

John Keen takes part in UKAS accreditation audit for SIRA Certification - no improvement requests raised and it is anticipated as a result SIRA Certification will gain full UKAS accreditation to OHSAS18001 within the construction industry.
