Paediatric First Aid – Level 3 Award : Highfield ABC Accredited Short Course
Paediatric First Aid (level 3) is designed for those in the workplace working to become a Paediatric First Aider. This is suitable for employees with a responsibility for the welfare of infants and children. First aid is the responsibility of everyone involved in the working environment. Topics within this course are regarded by the Early Years Foundation Stage as being important to maintaining good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health of infants and children who are under the care of trained personnel. This qualification meets the requirements for Paediatric First Aid outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage 2014.
How The Course Works
Group activities and discussion with assessment by a practical and theoretical test. Participants will be able to understand the importance of:
– Understanding the roles & responsibilities of a paediatric first aider, assessing an emergency situation safely & maintaining adequate record keeping
– Providing first aid for in a range of situations including, minor injuries, injuries to the eyes, ears and nose, burn & scalds, bites, stings, poisoning, breathing difficulties, shock, bleeding and unresponsive infants & children
Learners successfully completing this qualification may wish to progress onto further qualifications, such as:
- Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (QCF)
